The SEMS Education Advisory and Support team will explain to you all that you will need to know before you can apply for your study visa. This advisory information may include the following:
Your Eligibility
Check the Document Checklist Tool to find out the evidence you need to provide. You might also be exempt from providing evidence.
Your Enrolment
Enrollment in a course of study that is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and courses for Overseas for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
Genuine temporary entrant (GTE)
Enrollment in a course of study that is registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and courses for Overseas for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
English language requirements
Meet and show evidence of your English language proficiency or waiver with your visa application.
Financial capacity requirements
Proof and show evidence of financial capacity that is genuinely available to pay and cover your course fees, travel, and living costs for the student and any accompanying family members.
Health requirements
Require undergoing health examinations as part of the visa application process.
Study/Student Health Insurance
Must have recent and adequate health insurance while living and studying in Australia. Students can show this by obtaining Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) which provides medical and hospital insurance with OAA Study.
Character requirements
All applicants wishing to enter Australia must be of good and reputable character and their applications assessed against the character requirements.
Pre-qualifying visas
If you are On-shore, applying in Australia, you must hold a current temporary substantive and suitable visa,
Visa Lodgement Cost
Depends on application cost and the number of dependents. Ranges from AUD 680.
